Kate Middleton And Prince William Finally ‘hire Nanny For Baby George At They Sparkle At The Tusk Trust Awards
Kate Middleton Shines in First Official Post-Baby Appearance
The new mom was gorgeous and glowing in a gold floor-length Jenny Packham gown, which is sure to inspire many knockoffs. The custom dress accentuated her again-slender waistline, and her enviable locks cascaded down her shoulders just perfectly. William, who completed his final day as a Royal Air Force search and rescue pilot on Tuesday, looked effortlessly handsome in a black tux as most men do. The event was for the charity Tusk, which works to protect wildlife and alleviate poverty in Africa. The new dad, who has served as Royal Patron for the organization since 2005, presented two awards at the inaugural ceremony: the Prince William Award for Conservation in Africa, which is a lifetime achievement recognition, and the Tusk Conservation Award for Conservation in Africa, honoring a leading conservationist. During his speech, William took the opportunity to give the audience what they wanted to hear a tidbit about George. As it turns out, the couple’s new addition continues to be quite the vocal baby. “As you might have gathered, Catherine and I have recently become proud parents of a baby who has a voice to match any lion’s roar!” William told the crowd. “This is actually our first evening out without him, so please excuse us if you see us nervously casting cheeky glances at our mobile phone to check all is well back home.” Now that William has left the military after a seven-year stint, he will increase his official royal duties and charitable work, and this was the first step in that direction. The new parents seemed to enjoy their night out without baby George, who is nearly two months old. But he is in very capable hands. It was reported earlier today that the couple tapped William’s former nanny, 71-year-old Jessie Webb, to help out with their new addition . And they must be confident in their decision because, judging by these photos, they didn’t seem nervous at all.
The duchess will attend the awards with husband Prince William, Kensington Palace confirmed last month. Tusk Trust is a cause close to William’s heart with the British charity funding conservation work in Africa. The Duke is patron of the charity, and he and Kate have been star guests at events for the Trust in previous years. The Duke and Duchess have returned to their London base at Kensington Palace with George ahead of tonight’s event. Prince Harry let slip his brother and sister-in-law’s whereabouts as he attended the WellChild Awards in London last night, after playing city traders for the morning with Wills, in aid of another charity. Tonight’s event will mark the first official engagement for Kate since she gave birth in July (WENN) 28 year-old Harry revealed to nine year-old Nikki Christou at the WellChild event that he’d “literally just seen” his nephew. When Nikki told him her dad was called George the Prince replied, according to The Express: “Wow, very, very weird. “I’ve just literally seen him. Normally when I see him he’s either sleeping or crying but I’ve just seen him smile. It was the first time I’ve seen him smile.” According to the report, Harry saw the baby at Kensington Palace where Kate arrived earlier this week after heading to London from her rented home with Prince William in North Wales. She was photographed at a McDonald’s on the way down, not exactly the usual hangout for a member of the royal family! Prince William, seen here at an event for the charity last summer, is patron of the Tusk Trust (WENN) Tonight’s appearance from Kate and William comes just two days before a documentary about the Prince’s work with the Tusk Trust, Prince Williams Passion: New Father, New Hope, will air on ITV. In the interview, which took place at Kensington Palace shortly after the arrival of his son, the prince speaks candidly about his new life as a father and his hopes to pass on his passion for Africa to baby George. Insiders claim Kate decided to accompany the Prince due to the importance of the issue to her husband.
